I have recently been approached by both people seeking a job and people looking to hire people experienced and qualified to help with security jobs. I have often felt we needed to have a dedicated resource for helping connect qualified people and companies together – outside of the traditional websites that cover all of technology. At the end of the day, of course, I often think the best fits come from referrals and word-of-mouth.

That sais, and combined with the recent rise in interest on both sides, I am considering offering some sort of a job matching board/capability. What would you look for in that situation? Do you want a round of validation with either me or a catalyst expert?

For example, wouldn’t it be nice to have a position that cuts through the buzzwords and puts out what they are looking for? And as an employer, wouldn’t you want someone that has been through some round(s) of peer validation? I already have a few processes designed that would enable this – and would be willing to share them and try to build this into the community.

Part of being a catalyst is the willingness to examine and do things differently. So in your dream world, what can the catalyst community provide to help improve security by matching the right people together? Share your ideas here and I’ll see what I can make happen.

Thanks!
